Phil Longo was born in the year 1970 in New Jersey, United States of America. He is an American Football Coach who recently hired as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach by UNC.
Recently, Mack Brown (North Caroline coach) had stated that he wants an offensive coordinator who would help his team to score good points. With his statement, UNC announced that it has hired Phil Longo as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on Tuesday. It was also announced that Lonnie Galloway (former Louisville co-offensive coordinator) is hired to serve as receivers coach and Brandon Jones as Offensive line coach.

The 48-year-old Phil Longo has gained a massive experience in football coaching and with his guidance, the teams have made many records. In 2000, the football coach started his career in coaching at William Paterson University as an assistant coach at Division III.
Later in 2004, Phil Longo became a Head coach at FCS La Salle University because of his coaching skills and his way of interaction. The coach has also served as offensive coordinator at FCS Sam Houston State and Minnesota-Duluth (2006) for a number of months.
Phil Longo has also served as a coach at various institutes like Slippery Rock (2012), Youngstown State (2010) and Southern Illinois (2008) that made him widely famous as an offensive coordinator.
On December 2016 Phil Longo was hired at Ole Miss Football offensive coordinator and he oversaw the most productive offensive seasons (2017 and 2018) in Ole Miss History. However, recently UNC made an announcement about Longo accepting the same position at North Carolina and leaving Ole Miss.
