Carolyn when asked by the Anchor what is the steps taking to get COVID-19 tests for city residents before businesses are reopened, she replied “It’s not my job, it’s the hospitals and health system’s job. And it’s people’s responsibility to know when they are sick.” Later on, she said, “Anybody who’s in or come into the office that needs an appointment or has an issue they all are with their masks on or we enforce social distancing.”
Then, in another interview Carolyn said that the COVID-19 virus reminded her of 1964, Carolyn casually said “I can drive anywhere quickly. It’s wonderful. There are no traffic jams.”

Carolyn is the second female mayor of Las Vegas and is the wife of former mayor and attorney Oscar Goodman. She was elected as the Mayor on June 7, 2011, with a 60% vote and was re-elected in the year 2015, and April 2019. In her last election, she won with 83.5% of the vote.
According to her Bio, she has championed downtown development, improvement in inner-city schools, expansion of homeless resources, coordination among non-profit service providers, adoption of the Nevada film tax credit, and creation of the medical district and UNLV medical school, reports lasvegasnevada.gov.
In 2013, she helped accomplish the passage of a long-awaited Nevada Film Tax Credit and which is expected to bring significant new film investment and jobs to Nevada. In 1984, she founded The Meadows School and its well known in the Las Vegas community and also college preparatory school for pre-kindergarten through 12th grades.
