In an interview, Nicole said that she was shocked after seeing the screenshot that involved fat-shaming, and calling them derogatory names and physical appearances of the women, in one of the conversations the player, shared the image of Nicole and comment below “Oink, Oink”. After the screenshot went viral on the social media platform, NHL condemned this behavior by the players and wrote of twitter “The notional Hockey league strongly condemns the misogynistic and reprehensible remarks made by players Breden Leipsic and Jack Rodewald in a private group chat that has surfaced on social media. There is no place in our League for such statements, attitudes, and behavior, no matter the forum. We will address this inexcusable conduct with the clubs and players involved”

Later on Wednesday Breden Leipsic issued an apology and also commented that his friend’s Instagram account was hacked and the conversation screenshot was leaked on social media. Furthermore, Breden even deleted his Instagram account, since his scandal broke out and on Friday, the Washington Capitals has placed Breden Leipsic on unconditional waivers after terminating his contract.

However, Nicole revealed that the two-man in the chat already reached out to her and apologized for the explicit comment, but Nicole never mention the name of the players yet.

On May 7th Nicole replied to this on her Instagram and wrote: “No point focusing on the terrible things people say about you when there are way more positive things that you can be celebrating.”
