Sasha Zemmel is an Animal rights activist and social media personality. On Saturday night, April 23, an animal rights activist masquerading as an NBA official disrupted a playoff game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies at Minnesota’s Target Center.
Who is Sasha Zemmel?
Sasha Zemmel of St. Louis, Missouri, disguised herself as a referee and attempted to gain entry to the court. Her plan was to halt the game and walk over to Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor’s seat, where she would give a “technical foul and ejection” as well as a “fine.” She’s upset with the Timberwolves majority owner over an incident involving birds at his egg farm.

The number 5.3 was put on the back of the jersey in remembrance of the more than 5.3 million chickens that died at the factory during an epidemic of “highly pathogenic avian influenza” (HPAI).
This is the third time animal rights protestors have disrupted the event. During the Clippers-Timberwolves play-in game on April 12, a lady attempted to attach herself to the floor.
According to DxE, the protests were conducted to raise awareness about its continuing investigation against Rembrandt Enterprises after the Iowa Department of Agriculture revealed that 5.3 million birds in Buena Vista County had to be slaughtered in response to the avian flu epidemic.
To prevent the illness from spreading, millions of chicken birds were allegedly slaughtered across the Midwest.
The contentious technique of “ventilation shutdown,” in which barns are sealed shut and fans are switched off before heat, steam, or gas is injected to raise the temperature to the point where the animals succumb to overheating or asphyxia, is alleged to be utilized by Rembrandt.
A conveyor line seems to be transporting dead birds from one of the barns into the back of a semi-truck with an open trailer in video footage supplied by DxE, supposedly showing the aftermath of a cull at the farm.
