Anton is one among the five teenager’s who was convicted for the rape and assault of Central Park Jogger, Trisha Meili. The brutal incident took place in the North Woods of Manhattan’s Central Park on the night of April 19, 1989. The 28-year-old Investment banker (then Trisha) was found unconscious with several wounds in her body and moreover, her skull was brutally cracked and most of the blood had drained from her body. In fact, the attack left her in a coma for over 12 days.

Despite a lot of physical evidence, the 48-year-old Antron was convicted for the crime which he never committed at his 15-year age and further the authorities gave him 5-10 years in a prison sentence. The other four wrong suspects were Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, and Korey Wise. The defendants were charged with sexual abuse, rape, riot, robbery, and attempted murder.

Finally, the wrongly convicted teenager’s were released in 2002, after Matias Reyes (convicted murderer and serial rapist) confessed of raping Meili and moreover, his DNA also matched with the kit of the female jogger. After the five got released they went ahead to sue in 2003 for racial discrimination and finally in 2014 the city concluded the case for $ 41 million USD.
