Antonella Barba was born on November 26, 1986, in Santa Monica, California, United States of America. She is a popular American singer who rose to prominence, after competing in the sixth season of ‘American Idol’.

On October 11, 2018, the singer was arrested in the 500 blocks of Duke St. Norfolk and was charged for disturbing more than 100 grams of heroin. However, she has denied all the allegations against her and was later released that month. Recently on February 2019, she was accused on 11 federal charges for allegedly possessing cocaine, and heroin and acting as a courier for a drug ring. She was taken into federal custody.

Antonella Barba has completed her primary school education from Red Bank Catholic High School in New Jersey. Later she completed her graduation in Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the Catholic University of America. She is the daughter of Vincenzo (father) and Valerie Barba (mother). Her family was moved to Point Pleasant, New Jersey when Antonella was six years old. During her school days, she was attending violin classes and was also referred to as ‘violin girl’ for her violin playing skills.

At the age of four years, Antonella Barba started playing the violin and was also attending violin classes. In her neighborhood, she was teaching violin for her neighborhood children. Even in her school, she was referred to as ‘Violin girl’ due to her performances in some of the talent shows. During her high school, she participated in choir in four years and was also a part of the school’s doo-wop group and she also took music theory course as a senior.

At the age of 19 years, Barba gave an audition for the sixth season of ‘American Idol’ where she performed 1976 single ‘Free’. During the latter part of the show, her other songs included, Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ (1998), Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” (1996) and ‘Put Your Records On’. Moreover, her performances received some mixed reviews with some negative response from the judges. However, AllMusic’s Stephen Thomas Erlewine praised Antonella’s voice stating that she had a plain, pleasant voice. Unfortunately, she was eliminated from the show after making it to Top 16.
