Cooper Alexander Hoffman was born on March 2003 and from Fairport, New York, U.S. He is the son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and he died on February 2, 2014, Philip was an American actor, director, and producer. Known for playing distinctive supporting and character roles.
Philip started his career at the age of 12 and began attending a stage production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, then he studied acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and began his screen career in a 1991 episode of Law & Order and started to appear in films in 1992.
In his career, Philip recognized his works in the project such as Scent of a Woman (1992), Twister (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), Happiness (1998), Patch Adams (1998), The Big Lebowski (1998), Magnolia (1999), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Almost Famous (2000), Punch-Drunk Love (2002) and Along Came Polly (2004).
Furthermore, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor and received three more Oscar nominations.
On February 2, 2014, he died of combined drug intoxication and his body was found dead in the bathroom of his Manhattan apartment by a friend, playwright, and screenwriter David Bar Katz.
