Hans Berglund Wiki
Hans Berglund is the CEO of an Arizona company and he was caught on video hurling insults and using racial slurs against a black Uber driver, in one of the latest recorded cases of harassment targeting ride-share employees.
The driver was not only offended at being called the N-word but also appalled when he found out the passenger was a CEO and in a position of power. Later, in an interview with ABc15.com he said “Inside the car, I got two iPads for games and music,” and added, “You got the drinks, the snacks, super clean.”
Randy Clarke, a 25-year-old Arizona State University student was picking up Berglund for a ride when the 71-year-old CEO during that incident. On January 31, 2020, about 9 p.m all incidents occurred Clarke arrived at the spot and requested Hans to get to the backseat but Hans replied: “No, I don’t like to sit there.”
Clarke replied “I don’t like it when people sit in the front,” and the two continued going back and forth. Now questions arise why Clarke asked Hans to take back seat? He revealed that in 2018 everything changed after he was sexually assaulted by one of the passengers, he said.
Coming back to that night Hans continued to fight with Clarke and refused to leave the car but later both agreed to cancel the trip, but Hans then hopped in the back and said “Is it because I’m White? And you’re a f****ing N******? You are a f***ing idiot.”
Clarke quickly filed a complaint with Uber and in a statement to ABC15 Hans told that “I deeply regret and apologize for the hurtful and derogatory language I used during the altercation with Mr. Clarke. I firmly believe that there is no excuse for the use of racial slurs under any circumstance, so I will not offer any. It is my sincere hope that Mr. Clarke hears and accepts my apology and believes me when I say it is honest and heartfelt.”
Uber said in a statement, “Discrimination has no place on the Uber app or anywhere. What’s been described is a clear violation of our Community Guidelines and we launched an investigation as soon as we learned of it.”
