Later, Carmichael was an executive producer on the Fox sitcom Rel, which premiered in May 2018 and was canceled after one season. Later that year, Quentin Tarantino hired him to co-write a film based on the Django/Zorro crossover comic book series. On the Count of Three was directed by Carmichael, who also starred in it (2021). Burnham was also the director of his third special, Rothaniel (2022).
