The Group Injury Reserve was formed in 2013, Jordan began rapping with the pseudonym Stepa T Groggs, before joining he worked at his fellow group member — Nathaniel Ritchie’s mother’s Vans store. Groggs mentored Ritchie and when the pair found producer Parker Corey and a trio was born.

later, the trio performed with acts of other music genres, such as punk and indie, playing on Arizona State University’s campus. Groggs and Ritchie’s rap to Corey’s catchy beats soon captured the attention of fans. Furthermore, the group managed to amass a solid following in Arizona’s underground rap scene.
