Katelyn Ohashi was born on April 12, 1997, in Seattle, Washington, United States of America. She is a Professional American Gymnast who is on trending globally for scoring perfect 10 at 2019 Collegiate Challenge and it is the fourth perfect 10 floor routine of her career.
In an interview with Access’ Kit Hoover, she opened up about her journey. She stated that “They said that I was looking like I swallowed an elephant or a pig.” And also added that the humiliation began when she was just 14 years old and continued stating that, “It was definitely something that most of us have experienced.

But we were all young, we would make small games out of it, like sick games like, ‘Let’s see who can consume the least amount of calories.’” She also added that “We would go in and measure our legs and later stop eating if we couldn’t fit our hands around.” The Gymnast said that her lack of eating has noticeably slowed down her momentum at the gym.
Katelyn Ohashi Family
Katelyn Ohashi has attended Spring Creek Academy School and later completed her High School from Plano Senior High School in 2015. She was a gymnast during her High School. Later she enrolled in University of California, Los Angeles and did her majoring in general studies.
Richard Ohashi and Diana Ohashi are the parents of Katelyn and she also has three older brothers and a younger brother, Kalen.
Katelyn Ohashi Career
Katelyn made her debut in the national gymnastics at 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships where she has placed a first on floor exercise and tied for second on uneven bars. She was trained with Al Fond at Great American Gymnastics Express in Missouri.
She won a silver medal in the 2010 U.S. Classic in Chicago and later at the National Championships in Hartford Connecticut and won the bars title, placed third in all-around and tied for fourth on floor.
Katelyn Ohashi got the junior-division gold medal in the 2010 Bumbo Cup in Pretoria. She also helped the U.S. win the team competition in the 2011 City of Jesolo Trophy junior division and also won an individual gold medal on floor. In the 2013 American Cup, she won the cup defeating the U.S. teammate Simone Biles.
For the 2015-2016 season, she joined the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team and was Pac-12 Freshman of the Week four times. However recently at the 2019 Collegiate Challenge, she earned perfect 10s for a floor routine to an R&B and pop hits medley which she was performing for the second time and it was shared widely on social media.
