Kelvin Maynard Wiki

Kelvin Maynard was born on May 29, 1987, and from Paramaribo, Suriname. He was a Dutch professional footballer who played as a right defender. On September 18, 2019, he was shot dead by two men on a Motorcycle in Amsterdam and Kelvin was driving his car in the Langbroekdreef region of the city when the fatal gun attack occurred.

Around 8.30 pm last night he was shot according to the police investigation and the police said Kelvin tried to escape the Gunmen by towards a nearby fire station. However, his vehicle hit the front of the building and he was unable to be resuscitated.

The two suspects are said to be escaped on a Black scooter and there were dressed in black, police said. Moreover, he was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead after two hours later of his injuries.

Kelvin Maynard Career

In 2006, he started his career with FC Volendam and played four years there before signing for Olhanense. Later, in 2011, Kelvin moved Holland to Hungarian side Kecskemeti TE followed in but was released in December and headed back to the Netherlands to join FC Emmen.

Maynard’s displays there then caught the eye of Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp, where he made 27 league appearances during the 2013/14 campaign before signing for Hasselbaink at Burton.

Kelvin dreamed to move to England in November 2014 when he signed for fellow countryman Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink at Burton from Antwerp. After full-back helped the Brewers to win the League Two title during his first season at the club, he was then rewarded with another one-year contract.

However, he damaged his knee during a pre-season friendly with Derby County that ruled him out for the campaign and in 2016, he left and returned to Holland with SV Spakenburg. Kelvin played nine league matches in total for the Brewers and scored one goal.
