Lily Peters, a 10-year-old Wisconsin girl who had gone missing, has been found dead; authorities are investigating a homicide. According to the Chippewa Falls Police Department, Iliana Peters, also known as Lily, was found dead at 9:15 a.m. Monday.

According to CBS Minnesota, police in Wisconsin are investigating the death of a missing 10-year-old girl as a murder. After she did not come home from her aunt’s place on Sunday night, her father reported her missing.

There have been no arrests, and police say they are following up on many leads. Her last sighting was of her wearing a purple long-sleeved top, black stretch leggings, and grey sneakers. Other details were withheld for the time being.

However, authorities confirmed that the corpse was that of Iliana “Lily” Peters, a fourth-grade Parkview Elementary School student and that her death was a murder.

Lily vanished on Sunday after visiting with her aunt, according to CrimeOnline. The child’s father called the police at about 9 p.m. Sunday to report that no one had been able to locate her. She was spotted by family members that evening but did not return to her Chippewa Falls home in the 50 block of E. Birch Street.

Police investigated the area, but Lily was nowhere to be seen, according to ABC 18. Lily’s bicycle was discovered outside her aunt’s house on Sunday night, at a walking track between N. Grove St and the Leinenkugel’s brewery parking lot. Lily’s aunt lives around four streets away from her.
