Victoria Price is the WFLA Reporter in Tampa Bay, Florida, Reported announced that she has been diagnosed with cancer after viewer spotted lump on air.

On Thursday, Price tweeted and thanking a thoughtful viewer for bringing a lump on her throat to her attention, she wrote “Turns out, I have cancer. And I owe it to one of our wonderful @WFLA viewers for bringing it to my attention. I’ll be off work for a bit after tomorrow, but I’ll see y’all soon.”

In a statement, she wrote “‘8 on Your Side’ isn’t just a catchphrase at WFLA. It’s our cornerstone. But the roles recently reversed when I found a viewer on MY side, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” and added “As a journalist, it’s been full throttle since the pandemic began. Never-ending shifts in a never-ending news cycle,” Price continued. “Adjusting to remote workflows and in my case, taking on a new investigative role. We were covering the most important health story in a century, but my health was the farthest thing from my mind.”

Furthermore, she said a viewer emailed her last month and said she saw a lump on my neck and said it reminded her of her own which was cancer. Later, Victoria discovered that she has Cancer.

She will be undergoing surgery on Monday to have the tumor and some lymph nodes removed. In a Tweet, she wrote “Doctor says it’s spreading, but not too much, and we’re hopeful this will be my first and last procedure,” and in the series of tweets she said that chemotherapy currently “isn’t in the cards.”

But What was the viewer’s email to Victoria Price? The reported received short and simple mail “Hi, just saw your news report. What concerned me is the lump on your neck,” the viewer’s message said, according to a screengrab shared by Price. “Please have your thyroid checked. Reminds me of my neck. Mine turned out to be cancer. Take care of yourself.”

Career

She started her career with Butv10 as Reporter in 2009 and after a year she was promoted as Administration Coordinator and served this role untill 2011.

Later, for three months she was Corporate Entertainment Intern at butv10, from September 2011 to December 2011, Price served as the Associate Producer.

From Jan 2012 to April 2012, she was a Contributor at Camdenpudding.com and her role was to interview bands and reviewed gigs within the London music scene. Then, she served as Reporter at Hayes FM_Film & Media.

In 2012, she joined WBZ-TV as Online Olympic Correspondent and worked for over four months before joining back to Butv10. There, Price hosted the show “Decision 2012”, a four hour Election Night special, the land also served as Co-executive Producer of butv10’s award-winning news-magazine program at Boston University.

In 2013, Price left and joined Boston University College of Communication as Video Assitant and teaching Assitant. From August 2013 to May 2015, she worked as Weekend Anchor at KAMC-TV.

Before Joining KARK 4, she served for more than five years at FOX16 as a Reporter. Talking about her education she graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science.

Family

However, there is not much information about her father, mother, and siblings.

But on May 16th, she shared her mother’s picture on Instagram and wrote “Celebrating one of my favorite people (from a distance) today happy birthday mama!.”
